startNewsMessage1

This morning, the political reporter began his questions in an interview with Dr. Seyyed Qasem Mernabi, Secretary General of the International Foundation for Martyrs of Ashura, as follows:

Reporter: The International Foundation for Martyrs of Ashura recently submitted an official complaint against the Zionist regime to the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court. Please explain this complaint and its objectives.

Seyyed Qasem Mirnabi: Yes, as a non-governmental organization with consultative status in the United Nations Economic and Social Council, we considered it our human and legal duty not to remain silent in the face of the blatant tragedies that have been taking place in Gaza since October 7, 2023. This complaint was prepared in accordance with Articles 5, 6, 7, and 8 of the Rome Statute and includes official documents from the reports of the UN Human Rights Council, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Red Cross, and other reputable international organizations. We demand the official and immediate prosecution of the perpetrators of war crimes, crimes against humanity, crimes against peace, and genocide committed by the military and political authorities of the Israeli occupation regime against the civilian population of Gaza.

Reporter: What specific cases does this complaint cover?

Mir Nabi: We have carefully and accurately cited official sources, addressing four main areas: 1. War crimes: including the deliberate killing of civilians, targeting hospitals and schools, the use of prohibited weapons such as white phosphorus, and the food and medicine blockade. 2. Crimes against humanity: the systematic destruction of civilian life, the forced displacement of more than 1.9 million people, the creation of famine, and the mass deprivation of humanitarian and relief services. 3. Crimes against peace: the continuous violation of Security Council resolutions and the destabilization of the region through relentless military attacks and the incitement of sectarian conflicts. 4. Genocide: Actions and statements by Israeli officials that clearly indicate the intent to gradually or completely destroy the population of Gaza.

Reporter: What is the Foundation’s goal in filing this complaint at this time?

Mir Nabi: Our goal is to create a real revolution in legal accountability. This complaint is not just a political or symbolic statement, but a legal and documented action to achieve the rights of the Palestinian people. We also call for an international arrest warrant for the perpetrators of these crimes and emphasize that global public opinion should not allow Gaza to be consigned to the ashes of history.

Reporter: Do you have a message to the international community?

Mir Nabi: Yes. My message is simple and clear: If we remain silent about genocide today, we will be its victims tomorrow. The international community must distance itself from double standards. The value of a Palestinian child’s life is equal to that of any other child in the world. It is time for justice to be achieved in action, not in slogans.
