Iran's deputy foreign minister for political affairs has said that the country has no talks on nuclear issues in Vienna as the issue has already been solved completely within the framework of the 2015 nuclear deal, aka the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
According to Ashura News, quoted by IRNA news agency, The main question in the talks in the Austrian capital is removal of the illegitimate sanctions and the aftermath resulted from the US unilateral withdrawal from the deal, Ali Bagheri Kani has said in an interview.
Former US President Donald Trump exited from the JCPOA between Iran and the world powers -- US, UK, France, Russia, China, and Germany -- in May 2015 and imposed as he claimed the highest level of sanctions against Tehran in November the same year.
Referring to consultations with his French counterpart in Paris, the deputy foreign minister said that France can play a leading role in regional interactions and the process of talks as the country will be the president of the European Union (EU) next year.
As the diplomat announced, the talks in Vienna with participation of 4+1 will start as of November 29.
He further described the talks with his French counterpart as serious, blatant, and constructive.
Talks between Iran and 4+1 started as of April 2.
Once, Iran's then top nuclear negotiator Abbas Araghchi had said that much legal, technical, and political discussion was necessary and that the talks would continue whenever needed.
