The Mufti of Muslims of Belarus stated that we hold recitation competitions among children, youth, and adults at the national level in Belarus, and continued: "This improves the morale and mood of the people."
According to Ashura News, Mehr News Agency, at the third Quranic meeting in Tehran, which was held with the aim of forming a Quranic Council of the Islamic World for an effective strategy to realize a unified nation and with the participation of more than fifty Quranic activists from 24 countries of the world at the Islamic Culture and Communications Organization, the Mufti of the Muslims of the Republic of Belarus spoke about Quranic activities in this country.
Abubakr Shabanovich, the Mufti of the Muslims of the Republic of Belarus, who attended the meeting online, expressed his happiness at the connection with Quranic activists of the Islamic Republic of Iran and other countries and said: You are doing a lot of work to expand the knowledge of the Holy Quran and promote it among all the people of the world. We, in the secular country of Belarus, are also following your example.
He continued: We not only study the Quran ourselves, but we also do a lot of work to teach the Quran to children, youth and adults. After the period of atheism, we have started all these efforts to revive Islam and are trying to implement this sacred content in the life of every Muslim. For this reason, the system of religious education and enlightenment is included in our main activities.
Stating that we hold competitions of Quran reciters among children, youth and adults at the national level in Belarus, the Mufti of Muslims of Belarus continued: This helps us to improve the spirit and character of our people, which was the main concern and activity of our beloved Prophet, Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family). In the context of teaching and preserving this knowledge from our distant ancestors, I show you the handwritten Quran that I hold in my hands.
He added: This Quran is handwritten, because in the Middle Ages there was no printed text and our scribes wrote it in handwriting. This is the text of the Quran and under each line there is its translation. A translation written in Arabic script, but in Belarusian, Polish and Russian. Because Belarus was ruled by these countries at different times.
Shabanovich also said: Of course, at the modern level, in cooperation with religious experts from Tatarstan, we have translated the Holy Quran into Russian and adapted its text for the understanding of Belarusian Muslims. And this Holy Quran, which is in my hands, has been translated into Belarusian. This translation has just been reviewed and approved by the Scientific Council and, God willing, will be published by the end of this year.
He stated: The Holy Quran in Belarusian. This will be available not only to Belarusian Muslims, but also to non-Muslim readers. This is a request from our government and people to get acquainted with the Holy Bible in the national Belarusian language.
