The Washington Post newspaper reported on Thursday, citing American officials and informed sources, that US President Donald Trump has decided to pursue the path of diplomacy with Tehran, despite radical calls from those around him to attack Iran's nuclear facilities.
According to Ashura News, citing ISNA, the Washington Post claimed in its report that National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and Secretary of State Marco Rubio were among the hardliners who called for military action against Iran's nuclear capabilities.
In contrast, Vice President J.D. Vance, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, and American journalist Tucker Carlson encouraged Trump to adopt a more moderate approach and warned of the secondary consequences of a new conflict in the Middle East.
The Washington Post claimed in its report that in bilateral talks between the United States and the Israeli regime on Iran, officials discussed whether military action against Iran would end the country's nuclear program or only delay it a little.
