The Rasht representative in parliament stated that the country should not be made to wait for the outcome of negotiations with the United States, adding: "We should not tie all of the people's economic and livelihood issues to negotiations."
According to Ashura News, quoted by Mehr News Agency, Jabbar Kouchkinejad emphasized the need for realism regarding the process of negotiations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America, saying: The experiences of the past years have shown that one cannot be attached to these negotiations and consider them the final solution to all the country's problems, nor should one be pessimistic in a way that considers any dialogue useless or harmful.
He added: The reality is that the United States, as a country that has had numerous breaches of commitments to the Iranian nation in the past years, cannot be a reliable partner in the political arena. On the other hand, Iran, as a powerful country in the region, has always shown that it is a lover of logic and dialogue, but these talks must be held while preserving the dignity, national interests, and the red lines of the Islamic Republic's system.
Kouchkinejad, pointing out that some currents inside and outside the country are trying to link all economic problems to negotiations with the United States, stated: This view is dangerous and wrong. Our country has enormous capacities that, if properly activated, can untie many knots without relying on foreigners. People’s livelihoods should not be tied to the negotiating table.
The Rasht People’s Representative in the Islamic Consultative Assembly continued: In the past years, we saw that the JCPOA, with all its propaganda, did not bring tangible economic gains to the people. Sanctions were not only not lifted, but were also intensified in subsequent periods. This historical experience tells us that we cannot pin our hopes on the smiles of American officials.
He emphasized: The government and the diplomatic apparatus must move within the framework of the system’s macro policies. The Supreme Leader has also repeatedly emphasized that negotiation as a tool can be used in some cases, but it should not be considered the only solution. Our country must stand on its own feet, strengthen domestic production, take the resistance economy seriously, and actualize domestic capacities.
Kouchkinejad said: "The honor, wisdom, and expediency of the Islamic Republic must be observed in the negotiation process, and any possible agreement must be made under the close supervision of the parliament and other legal institutions of the country." He stated: "If the negotiation aims to secure national interests, it is acceptable, but keeping the country waiting for the outcome of the negotiations and neglecting domestic capacities until a result is achieved is an injustice to the people and the future generation."
