In a message, the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, announced the reform of the Chastity and Hijab Law and emphasized: "In the current law, the guidance patrol has been completely eliminated."
According to Ashura News, citing IRNA, Qalibaf wrote in a message on his account on the social network X (formerly Twitter): "The hijab had a law before the current law was passed, and there is no legal vacuum in this regard. Now, a law was supposed to be passed that would address both the positive and negative aspects."
The Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly stated: "In the current law, the guidance patrol has been completely eliminated, but the government has some problems in some other issues, which are to be announced to the Assembly before a decision is made on amending the law."
He noted: "The notification of the current law has also been stopped by a written notification from the Secretariat of the Supreme National Security Council (SNC) based on a decision made at an official meeting of the SNC with the presence of all members, so that the government's reforms can be considered."
