According to Ashura News, citing the TASS news agency, Maria Zakharova added at a press conference on Thursday, April 4, 2021: "We have repeatedly said that the use of military force by Iran's enemies on the nuclear issue is unacceptable."

She clarified: "Threats from outside the country, for example, bombing nuclear energy infrastructure, will have inevitable, large-scale and irreversible radiological and humanitarian consequences for the entire Middle East region and the entire world; therefore, they are unacceptable."

The Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson emphasized: "We are committed to achieving sustainable negotiated solutions that eliminate the prejudices and misconceptions of the Western side regarding Iran's nuclear program."

She stated: "In achieving these solutions, we take into account Tehran's legitimate interests in the peaceful use of atomic energy, which arise from Iran's participation in the Non-Proliferation Treaty."

Earlier, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister condemned US President Donald Trump's rhetoric and said: "Russia is ready to help the US and Iran reach a rational agreement before it is too late."

In an interview with International Affairs magazine, Sergei Ryabkov added: "While there is still time, we must redouble our efforts to reach an agreement on a rational basis."

He considered the US President's threats and ultimatums against Iran a ploy by Trump to impose his will on the Iranian side and stated: "This approach by the US President will only complicate the situation."

Continuing his anti-Iranian threats, US President Donald Trump claimed in an interview with NBC News on April 1, 2025: "If Iran does not agree, there will be bombing; bombing the likes of which they have never seen."

Following this threat, the US Director General of the State Department summoned the Swiss Ambassador to Tehran as the guardian of US interests and delivered an official note of warning from the Islamic Republic of Iran to him. He condemned the US President’s provocative and illegal statements and emphasized Iran’s strong determination to respond decisively and immediately to any threat.

Meanwhile, Esmail Baghaei, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, published a message on X, describing the US President’s threat as “a clear violation of the essence and essence of international peace and security.” He wrote: “Such a threat is a gross violation of the UN Charter and a violation of the International Atomic Energy Agency safeguards regime. Violence brings violence, and peace creates peace. The United States can choose; with its effects and consequences.”

On Thursday, Farvardin 4, 1404, the Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs also called for international forums, including the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, to condemn the US President’s statements against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Majid Takht Ravanchi, at the meeting of deputy foreign ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states hosted by Moscow, called Trump's remarks dangerous and contrary to the fundamental principles of international law and the UN Charter, which prohibits the use of force against the territorial integrity and political independence of countries. Referring to Iran's request to the UN Security Council to condemn these remarks, he also called on the Shanghai Organization to adopt a similar position in condemning this US approach in order to maintain international peace and security.
