The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces provided details of the content of the Islamic Republic of Iran's response to US President Trump's letter.
According to Ashura News, quoted by Mehr News Agency, Major General Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, regarding the details of the content of Iran's response to Trump's letter, said: In this response, which of course the Supreme Leader gave his orders and the Foreign Minister conveyed it, their measures were based on the fact that we will respond to the threat with all our forces, but we are not war-seeking and have no intention of starting a war.
He added: The point that we are seeking peace in the region and the point that we are not seeking nuclear weapons in [the nuclear issue] and we are pursuing the needs of our nation in nuclear and other aspects that were [in Iran's response].
In explaining the details of the letter, the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces emphasized: We will not negotiate directly, but indirect negotiations are fine, and you were the most dishonest and reneging party in the negotiations, and therefore there is no trust in you, but we will not close the way [for indirect negotiations], which can be negotiated if you move honestly.
Major General Bagheri stated: This reasonable and very wise response is intended to ensure that both the people of our country and the people of the world know that the strategy of the Islamic Republic of Iran is to defend its own interests and progress and move towards its outlined horizons.
He stated: We are not a war-loving army, but we do not tolerate or accept bullying and we will resist.
