The Russian president has ordered a halt to military operations against Ukraine from today until Monday, in observance of Easter.
According to Ashura News, citing Sputnik, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered a halt to all military operations against Ukraine for about 2 days.
According to the media outlet, the Russian presidential office quoted Putin as saying: Russian forces must be ready to repel any possible ceasefire violations and Ukrainian provocations. The ceasefire will last from today until Monday on the occasion of Easter.
A statement issued by the Russian presidential office (Kremlin) said: On the Russian side, all hostilities in eastern Ukraine will cease from April 19 to April 21. Our forces are ready to repel any possible ceasefire violations and provocative actions by Ukraine.
The Kremlin added in the statement: Vladimir Putin announced that he expects Ukraine to join Russia's 30-hour ceasefire, which is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Moscow time on Saturday and end at 12 midnight on Sunday. Russia welcomes the US's desire for a peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian crisis. The Kiev regime has violated the agreement not to attack Russian energy facilities more than 100 times. The Russian president congratulated Orthodox soldiers on Easter. Putin ordered the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Gerasimov to report on the timing of the complete liberation of Kursk.
