The President said: "The imbalances in the areas of water, electricity, gas, and money have hundreds of solutions, and if people who know, can, and are motivated come to the fore, the problems will be solved."
According to Ashura News, quoted by Mehr News Agency, on Monday evening, at the iftar ceremony for professors, faculty members, managers and officials of Shahid Beheshti University, Masoud Pezshkian stated that whether I was at the university or during my time as a representative of the parliament and the ministry, I always believed that if the administration of the country's affairs was entrusted to academics, they would solve all problems. He added: "Today, I still believe that if the work is entrusted to people who know, have the skills and are motivated to solve the problem, all problems can be solved."
The president added: "I cannot accept that we have a problem of imbalance, but we cannot solve it. Imbalances in the areas of water, electricity, gas and money have hundreds of solutions, and if people who know, can and are motivated come to the fore, the problems will be solved."
Pointing out that unfortunately, there is a wrong habit in society that, instead of accepting each other and listening to the other person's words and opinions, we do not tolerate and reject each other's opinions, Pezizkian stated: "Of course, the pleasure of trying and solving problems in difficult circumstances is much greater. We at the university have the capacity and potential to solve all of the country's current problems."
Stating that seemingly similar problems do not necessarily have similar and unified solutions, the President said: "Today, as we seek to solve problems, especially to eliminate imbalances, numerous solutions have been presented, and we must choose the appropriate solution for each problem and the environmental situation for each region, depending on the requirements of each problem and the problem's environmental situation, and implement it in accordance with the conditions there."
Pezshkian pointed out that while we have many financial problems today, according to some statistics, up to $150 billion in hidden subsidies are distributed that do not even reach the deserving people, and noted: "It is absolutely unacceptable to me that despite the country's vast wealth and resources, we have people who have difficulty making a living, and while the wealthier people have a greater share of subsidies, there are also people who struggle to meet their most obvious needs."
Stating that we expect universities and professors to come to the fore and provide appropriate solutions to any problem depending on regional and environmental requirements, the President said: "Today, we are facing severe water shortages in many regions of the country, including Tehran; while in some areas of the province, we have land subsidence of up to 36 centimeters, and 2 centimeters of subsidence means declaring a crisis, but when we say that Tehran should no longer develop, some take a stand."
Pezshkian stated: Academics have the capacity and ability to provide executive solutions to all problems, and we extend a helping hand to all of you; this country belongs to us, let's join hands and use all our efforts and strength for Iran.
The President also broke the fast on the sixteenth day of Ramadan with professors, faculty members, administrators, and officials of Shahid Beheshti University.
