The presidency of the International University of Islamic Studies issued a statement condemning the offensive program against Sunni holy sites.
According to Ashura News, citing Mehr News Agency, following the broadcast of an insulting program against the beliefs and sanctities of Sunni brothers and sisters by one of the IRIB channels, Dr. Mohammad Hadi Fallahzadeh, President of the International University of Islamic Denominations, condemned this unacceptable act and said: Such behaviors not only contradict the indisputable principles of the proximity of Islamic denominations and the instructions of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution (Supreme Leader) to maintain the unity of the Islamic Ummah, but also cause division and create a rift in the Muslim community.
He continued by approving the joint statement of the representative of the Supreme Leader and the governor of Sistan and Baluchestan, and appreciating the IRIB’s rapid stance in dealing with the perpetrators of this audacity, and stated: We expect all cultural and media institutions to prevent the recurrence of such events with greater sensitivity and prudence. Islamic unity is a strategic necessity in the current turbulent world, and insulting any Islamic religion is considered an act against the entire Islamic Ummah.
The president of the International University of Islamic Denominations noted in another part of the statement: This university expects the judicial system to issue a practical unifying message by identifying the root causes of such divergent actions and dealing fairly with the perpetrators of this violation, and to prevent the actions of opportunistic individuals by strengthening empathy among Muslims.
He concluded by saying: We also call on all religious, scientific, and cultural institutions and personalities to prevent the destructive effects of such ill-considered behaviors by strengthening the discourse of rapprochement.
