Mohammad Reza Aref, citing a story from Stanford University, stated: The elites of the Islamic world must return to their own countries. The path of the West is not the desired path for the elites. The path that culminates in civilization, the tragedies of Gaza, is the peak of uncivilization.
According to Ashura News, quoted by Mehr News Agency, First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref posted on his Instagram page a story about his recent meeting with a group of graduates from prestigious universities around the world on the topic of imbalances, along with a memory of his return from Stanford University in the United States to Iran, along with a photo from his time studying.
Aref wrote:
Since the formation of the 14th government, I have had various meetings with experts and elites on the topic of imbalances. Recently, I was also in the service of a group of graduates from prestigious universities around the world who returned to Iran after graduation.
In this meeting, I talked about my experiences after returning from Stanford University. When I was at Stanford University, they gave me seventy or seventy-five thousand dollars, but in the early days of October 1970 - when the imposed war had begun - I defended my thesis in the morning and set off for Iran that same evening. Due to the insecure conditions at that time, it was not possible to fly to Iran, so after I came to Pakistan, I took a bus from Quetta, Pakistan to Tehran.
Since then, I have been asked every time if I could go back in time, would I still go back to Iran? My answer has always been that as a Muslim, I swear that if I could go back in time, I would choose the same path; and I would go back to Iran.
I believe that if those young people had not come to the field in the 60s, we would not have reached where we are today.
Perhaps two or three decades ago, experts could have said that their expertise was not being used, but today we do not have those issues. Of course, the bureaucratic system is cumbersome. In the 60s, in one of the ministries in the planning and statistics department, we wanted to use personal computers, but we witnessed a serious resistance that was unbelievable. The reason for their resistance was that they said, "You want to replace us with computers." We worked in that situation. But now, at the highest level, new and practical ideas are welcomed, and this means that the elites have a heavy responsibility at this stage, and the government is asking them for help and assistance to respond to the demands of the people.
I believe that the elites of the Islamic world should return to their own countries. We cannot do anything until we become strong. The path of the West is not the path desired by the elites, the path that will be the peak of civilization, the disasters of Gaza, the peak of uncivilization.
