Armed rebel attacks from Syria on Lebanese border areas

News sources report attacks by armed Syrian rebels on Lebanese border areas and the Lebanese army's response to the rebel attacks.

According to Ashura News, citing ISNA, the Lebanese website Al-Nashra announced that after the armed members of the Syrian Tahrir al-Sham Front lined up a large number of their elements in the border areas with Lebanon, the Lebanese army has sent reinforcements and heavy weapons to the border with Syria from the Hermel side.

Al-Nashra’s correspondent in Bekaa, Lebanon reported that the Syrian rebels have not entered Lebanese territory and that the Lebanese army is still in its positions and is confronting any attack and responding to encroachments on Lebanese lands and villages.

Al-Nashra’s correspondent announced that the armed rebels entered the Housh al-Sayed region in the Syrian part of it and have not entered Lebanese territory.

The news site stated that two border residents were martyred in Housh and several were injured.

An Arab RT correspondent announced this evening (Monday) that after a wave of heavy bombing and clashes in the Housh al-Sayed region axis on the Lebanese-Syrian borders; Syrian rebels entered the Syrian part of the region and took control of it.

Meanwhile, the Saudi-owned Al-Hadath network announced that Syrian forces would not advance beyond the Housh region.

The Housh al-Sayed region is a border region between Lebanon and Syria, most of which is located in Syria and is considered almost deserted due to its small population, and the Lebanese army and tribes are present in the Lebanese part of this region.
