pezshkian: We haven't learned to sit together and listen to the right things.

The president said: "We have not learned to sit together and listen to the right words, and if something is unacceptable, not to accept it, and if someone does not accept our words, not to convince them by force."

According to ISNA, President Masoud Pezhakian said in a speech at the closing ceremony of the 32nd Holy Quran Exhibition held in Tehran’s Mosalla on Sunday evening (March 16): “Thank God, the number of people who recite and memorize the Quran in the Quranic community is increasing thanks to the teachers, but what is on my mind is practicing the Quran.”

He continued: “In all aspects of our lives, we must practice the Quran. We cannot say that the Quran is current in all stages of our lives, but we have problems in terms of culture, science, morality, and management. This gap must be filled somewhere.”

The President noted: “One of the ways of guidance is for the believer to be a listener and if something is not right, he does not accept it. We have not learned to sit together and listen to the right thing, and if something is not acceptable, we do not accept it, and if someone does not accept our words, we do not convince them by force.”

Pezizian pointed out: The end of oppression is when someone does not know something but does not admit that they do not have information. Confirming or denying something we do not know is itself an example of oppression. There is no greater oppression than denying something I do not know.

He added: Based on the teachings of the Quran, did we not take a pledge not to speak anything but the truth, meaning to speak the truth and not deny what we do not know? Basically, this culture does not exist in our society, and without knowing a person, we criticize and insult him, and we do not even listen to the other party's ideas because we have not learned to listen. Let us learn to listen if what the other party says is acceptable and not to listen if it is not true.

The President stated: It is important that we learn to talk and choose and not deny if we do not know something. As the President, I may not know many things, but unfortunately some say, "Give me guidance." But when I do not know anything, why should I show the way? Someone who has determination and experience should show the way.

Pezizian stated: "Faith is not easily achieved. When we want to teach someone faith, we must know patience, justice, and jihad to become believers. I also came out of the pulpits and I expect our students to be educated in a way that is the best and most ethical."

He stated: "Worshiping God means that we move in the highest direction. As long as we are alive, we must strive to go towards God, and if we say that we have reached God, it is wrong. We must always move towards God, and this has been formed as my belief as a Muslim."

The President continued: Some say that reading the Quran is rewarding, but I believe that if the Quran penetrates into my thoughts and the depths of my mind, it is rewarding, otherwise reading the Quran a hundred times without understanding and comprehension is not valuable.

Pezizian stated that truth and justice are two important words of the Quran, which Shahid Beheshti also refers to, and emphasized: The Ahl al-Bayt (AS) also sought this truth and justice, and when the Imam of the Time (AS) wants to come, all the fighting will be over his justice. The Supreme Leader of the Revolution also emphasizes this justice and believes that we are lagging behind in this issue.

He reminded: If we want people to trust us, we must deal with them based on justice. We must see people as we see our own people and relatives. It is hoped that this Quranic exhibition and events will cause change in society and set a model for others, and that others will envy our lives and lifestyles.

The President said: Why should our youth envy the lifestyle of other societies, while we should live in a way that others regret us. If someone went to the Prophet's Mosque, they would not be able to recognize the Prophet (PBUH) in the mosque because he looked like the people, but are we like that?

In the end, the doctors, invoking Imam Hassan Mujtaba (AS), wished everyone to act according to the Quran.
