President Ebrahim Raisi said that he has no red lines in dealing with corruption and has tried to select his colleagues from among honest, anticorruption people.
According to Ashura News, quoted by the news agency ISNA, Speaking in a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, President Raisi said that fighting corruption was a stipulation implied by the people voting for him in the June Presidential Election in Iran.
He highlighted hiring and appointment of human forces and directors in the government as a potential ground for corruption, instructing his cabinet members to focus only on qualification in hiring.
Defend your appointments if they were based on merits when faced with criticism, otherwise correct the assignment, the President insisted.
He also said that officials should address corruptions occurred in their jurisdiction and introduce the perpetrators to the Judiciary.
Raisi underlined that his administration has applied for the first time in high level appointed inquiry from inspection organization like the General Inspection Organization of Iran and the Supreme Audit Court of Iran in addition to intelligence agencies.
Anti-corruption was one of the most important campaign promises of Raisi and he has been a focus point in his administration since taking office.
