Ayatollah Khamenei, the Leader of the Revolution, agreed to the request of the Head of the Judiciary to pardon or commute the sentences of a group of convicted persons.
According to Ashura News, citing Mehr News Agency, on the occasion of the New Year and on the eve of Eid al-Fitr and the anniversary of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Khamenei, the Leader of the Revolution, agreed to the request of the Head of the Judiciary to pardon or reduce and commute the sentences of a group of convicted persons in the courts.
In a letter to the Leader of the Revolution, Hojjatoleslam Walmuslemin Ejei, the Head of the Judiciary, had requested the pardon or reduction and commutation of the sentences of 1,526 convicted persons in the general and revolutionary courts, the Government Penal Organization, and the Armed Forces Judicial Organization.
