The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on the anniversary of the Zionist regime's crime of attacking the Iranian embassy in Damascus.
According to Ashura News, citing Mehr News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on the anniversary of the Zionist regime's crime in attacking the Iranian embassy in Damascus:
A year ago, on Farvardin 13, 1403, the criminal Zionist regime attacked the embassy building of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Damascus in a gross violation of the most fundamental principles and rules of international law, which resulted in the martyrdom and injury of several citizens and military counterterrorism advisors of the Islamic Republic of Iran and several Syrian citizens.
The Zionist regime's military-terrorist attack on the embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran was a clear violation of the principles of the United Nations Charter, especially the principle of prohibition of the use of force, and a gross violation of the rules and norms of international law, especially the 1961 Convention on Diplomatic Relations and the 1973 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Crimes against Internationally Protected Persons.
Despite the condemnation of the Zionist regime's aggression against the Iranian embassy building in Damascus by many governments, the United Nations Security Council, in its continued inaction against the regime's ongoing violations of the law and crimes in occupied Palestine and Lebanon, failed to fulfill its inherent duty under the Charter and, under the destructive influence of the United States, failed to even issue a brief statement condemning the Zionist regime's military attack - which was undoubtedly an act of aggression and a clear violation of international peace and security. In such circumstances, Operation True Promise 1 was designed and implemented in line with Iran's inherent right to legitimate defense against the Zionist regime's blatant aggression.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs notes that the continued inaction of the United Nations Security Council against the continuous and numerous violations of the law by the Zionist apartheid regime - which reflects the comprehensive support of the United States, the United Kingdom and some other Western governments for the genocide, occupation and warmongering of the Israeli regime in occupied Palestine and the surrounding region, especially Lebanon and Syria - is a major factor in the Zionist regime's continued gross violations of the fundamental principles and norms of international law, human rights and humanitarian law. The continued impunity of the Zionist regime and the blatant obstruction of the United States in fulfilling the duties of international legal and criminal courts to hold and punish the leaders of this regime accountable for committing genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity and the crime of aggression, not only contradicts all accepted principles of international law and moral norms, but also paves the way for the continuation of this regime's violations of the law and threats to international peace and security.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, while honoring the memory of martyrs Sarfaraz, Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, and Brigadier General Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi, as well as martyrs Hossein Amanollahi, Seyyed Mehdi Jalalati, Mohsen Sedaghat, Ali Agha Babaei, and Seyyed Ali Salehi Roozbahani, emphasizes that the passage of time will in no way cause us to forget this crime and other criminal acts of this regime against the Iranian nation and the nations of the region, and the Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to use all its capacities to implement justice and hold the terrorist regime of Israel accountable.
