The head of the Parliament's Foreign Relations Committee, referring to the importance of preserving national interests in nuclear negotiations, emphasized the need for realism and internal cohesion, and said: "The Parliament supports our country's negotiating team."
According to Ashura News, quoted by Mehr News Agency, Abbas Golroo, in his assessment of the recent indirect negotiations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States, stated: The second round of negotiations, similar to the first round, was positive and forward-looking, based on what the media reflected and the statements of the parties. On the other hand, the Western and American media emphasized the self-confidence of the Iranian negotiating team and their planning.
The head of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Islamic Consultative Assembly clarified: The other side knows that it must set a specific ceiling for its requests, and this ceiling does not mean closing the Islamic Republic of Iran’s nuclear industry or reducing enrichment to zero.
The representative of the people of Semnan in the Islamic Consultative Assembly continued: So far, the statements of the other side indicate that they have accepted Iran’s nuclear power, capability, and capacity, and the Islamic Republic of Iran, considering the heavy costs it has incurred for the peaceful uses of this industry, definitely considers preserving the nuclear industry as a red line and will never give up on this issue.
The Parliament supports our country’s negotiating team
Golro continued to emphasize: The Islamic Consultative Assembly supports the nuclear negotiations and supports our country’s negotiating team. I hope we can support Iran’s negotiating team with internal cohesion and a plan.
A member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, emphasizing the necessity of maintaining the Islamic Republic of Iran’s red lines in the nuclear negotiations, said: The Strategic Action Law for the lifting of sanctions and the protection of the rights of the Iranian people must be considered in the negotiations.
He added: Certainly, at the macro level of the country and in high institutions such as the Supreme National Security Council and centered on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, planning will be done for the details of the next negotiations, and our country’s negotiating team will proceed on this basis.
Golro also emphasized the need for realism in negotiations and said: Negotiation is a tool for reaching a result that will secure national interests. No one in the world of politics, especially international politics, can be optimistic or pessimistic about negotiations. The Supreme Leader's statement that we should not be overly optimistic or pessimistic about these negotiations is very accurate and noteworthy.
The head of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Islamic Consultative Assembly stated: Negotiations must be pursued realistically. We must proceed with our goal, plan, and principles in the negotiations, and if the negotiations reach a conclusion and the other side fulfills its commitments, we will also reach a conclusion. However, if the negotiations do not reach a conclusion or the other side reneges on its commitments, our realism will help us continue on our path.
