Pezshkian: The relationship with Iraq is one of the most important areas of Iran's foreign relations
In a telephone conversation with his Iraqi counterpart, the President of our country said: "The relationship with Iraq is one of the most important areas of Iran's foreign relations, and we consider the people of our friendly and neighboring country, Iraq, to be our brothers."
According to Ashura News, citing Mehr News Agency, Masoud Pezshkian, in a telephone conversation with Iraqi President Abdullatif Rashid this Friday afternoon, thanked him for his call and his congratulations and good wishes for the government and people of Iran, and stated: The relationship with Iraq is one of the most important areas of foreign relations of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and we consider the people of our friendly and neighboring country, Iraq, to be our brothers.
The President added: As Your Excellency said, I hope that the opportunity to meet in person again will be provided as soon as possible so that we can discuss solutions to strengthen empathy and cohesion, as well as to further expand and deepen relations and cooperation between us in order to ensure and promote the welfare, peace, and development of the people of Iran and Iraq, as well as the nations of the region.
In this telephone conversation, the Iraqi President, while congratulating the Iranian government and nation on the past holidays and the beginning of the new year, and conveying greetings to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, stated that the Iraqi government and nation have always been and will be by the side of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and emphasized: The Iraqi people and government have always wanted the best for their neighbors and friends in Iran.
Expressing hope for a face-to-face meeting with the doctors at the earliest opportunity and consulting on ways to develop mutual relations, Abdul Latif Rashid said: Iraq is ready for any kind of cooperation and support with the Islamic Republic of Iran in order to promote the stability, security, and welfare of the two countries and other nations in the region.
