According to Ashura News, a senior Hamas leader will travel to Cairo tomorrow, Saturday, to discuss the developments in the ceasefire talks in the Gaza Strip.

He added that the talks will include examining new proposals to reach a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

A few days ago, informed sources told the Israeli channel Kan that negotiations between the occupation regime and Hamas are continuing despite the apparent impasse.

These sources noted that the negotiations in recent days have been conducted in complete secrecy, away from media coverage, and with the aim of achieving progress without public comments.

The sources emphasized that the proposals for an agreement included the release of 10 prisoners and Aidan Alexander, an American citizen, but Hamas has offered to release only five prisoners.

According to these sources, Egypt is playing the role of the main mediator in this phase of the negotiations.

These developments come at a time when some media outlets, citing officials close to Hamas, have reported that the movement has not yet received any new proposals regarding a ceasefire.
